Course Description:
Offers students the opportunity to develop their ability to write effective expository and argumentative prose. Students will analyze their own work in terms of aims, logic, and organization. They are encouraged to use literary techniques such as dialogue and figurative language to enrich their meaning and enliven their style. They are also required to evaluate and incorporate research into their own writing. Readings are assigned to teach students how to read as writers do--with an eye for technique and form--as well as to develop their critical thinking.
Special Requirements:
Knowledge of Microsoft Word or WordPerfect; MS Internet Explorer; modem and Internet connection.
Online Component:
We will meet in H-407 for the first and last class and the final examination. All other meetings will be online.
