Course Description:
This course is designed to teach beginning students the fundamentals of operating a computer keyboard using the touch approach. Proper techniques for learning the alphabetic, numeric and symbol key locations will be taught. Emphasis will be given to learning to input quickly and accurately business letters, personal business letters, reports and tables in proper format.
Special Requirements:
To take this distance learning Computer Keyboarding course, you must work on a system that meets the following minimum requirements: (1) PC with a 486 (66MHz or higher) or Pentium CPU; (2) Hard drive with 1 MB of free space; (3) 16 MB RAM; (4) High-density 3.5" floppy disk (for saving data); (5) Graphics adapter, SVGA or higher, 640 x 480, 256-color, True Color, or High Color, small fonts mode; (6) Microsoft Windows 95/98/NT/ME; (7) Microsoft-compatible mouse and standard keyboard; (8) Microsoft Word 2000,XP, or 2003; (9) CD-ROM drive; (10) A printer is recommended but not required; (11) Standard audio card compatible with MS Windows - MCI is recommended; (12) Modem. The program we'll be using supports the following browsers running on a Window PC: Netscape Navigator 3.0 or 4.0 and Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.0 or 4.0.
