Course Description:
Business and industry in the United States are surveyed broadly in this course. Emphasis is placed on the historical development, objectives, methods of operation, and the interrelationships of management, labor and government. Included is the study of new developments and trends in business administration and the problems they engender in the total management process.
Special Requirements:
All students should have:
1. An active email address (if you do not have email, the college will provide an email account for you.) The Blackboard system will only accept the BMCC student email address. You do, however, have the option of forwarding mail from your BMCC address to another email address. Those instructions can be found on the student email page.
2. Access to a computer so that you can comfortably log on several times a week and for sustained periods of time.
3. Ability to use Microsoft Word or other similar word processing software.
4. Familiarity with Microsoft Power Point.
5. Ability to use internet search engines and the BMCC library for research.
Online Component:
The entire course is online. Each week students submit a written assignment via email and participate in an online discussion board. There are online quizzes available for practice.
Pre-requisites:
Students must have passed ENG 088, ESL 094, RDG 062, and Math 010 or 011.
