Course Description:
This course extends the study of personal computer repair and operating systems to the areas covered by the COMPTIA A+ Certification Examination. Topics covered include: Installation; Configuration and Upgrading; Diagnosing and Troubleshooting; Safety and Preventive Maintenance; Motherboards, Processors and Memory; Printers; Portable Systems; Basic Networking; Customer Satisfaction; Operation System Installation, Structure, Operation and File Management; and Memory Management.
Special Requirements:
Students will be required to complete weekly online quizzes, and to meet deadlines for completing reading assignments. For additional information, please contact the instructor, dmangra@qcc.cuny.edu.
Online Component:
This is a partly online course. It meets half the time on-campus in the Technology building in room T-18. The other 50% of the course will be taught online via Blackboard and Email.
Pre-requisites:
ET-480 Upgrading and Repairing PCs and ET-504 Operating Systems and Environments or permission of the Department.
